Do You Smell That?
Do you smell that?
The fragrance of salt and
sand next to roaring waves
of blue, royal, sky
High the waves fly crashing
releasing more hot air aroma and salty birds
strolling down empty beaches
fragrances of musty flowers
almost dry purple
and orange green
waving their perfume of mist over vistas
of clear glass and sea grass

That tree is dancing
In the wind
In the rain
It's always happy
When the sun shines
and it is still
It glissens
It's leaf-lips
open and close
smiling
It teaches
to be even, steady
To enjoy that
that seems cold, wet

to sit
expectantly waiting
patiently listening
acceptantly
to what comes next.

In ones vast memory store
The seeds are there
gently shaken about
but hard to get out
on paper with flair
One by one the thoughts line up
The pen writes down
the words are found
The theme laid bare
and formed with care
the sentences stretch out
upon the line
The jumble now smooth
one reads it through
and emotions rise
and feelings feel
